Maricopa Meetings/LecturesEvent
DescriptionNorm Crawford, B.S. Aerospace Engineering, M.S. Aerospace Engineering/Orbital MechanicsCreation and HistoryThis presentation covers the history of the beliefs about the Earth's origin from Adam until today and how these beliefs have impacted the world views of believers and non-believers. It starts in the Old Testament where we see the Creator in direct contrast to the pagan gods of the day, and then moves into the time of Christ, the New Testament and the early church. The discussion then moves on to impacts on the Reformation, the Enlightenment and the early introduction of modern evolutionary theory. Some time is then spent on the spread of evolutionary thought into today and the impact it has had on society and the church. The final points of the class discuss the state of Creationist thought in the church today and what the two primary views espouse, and why many feel this is such an important and essential doctrinal topic.
